The journey from Auckland to Waiheke takes approximately 45 minutes which offers you chance to enjoy the views of the Auckland City Skyline, the bridge and the north shore area of Devonport on the way to Waiheke. The Auckland Ferry terminal is a short walk from the cruise ship wharf, allow 10 minutes.
Once you arrive on the island, there are local buses and taxis waiting to meet passengers or you may want to just explore nearby to the ferry terminal on foot or hire a bicycle from one of the operators located at the ferry terminal.
If you have purchased a tour or other activity then they will be waiting at the terminal to meet you. Just follow the instruction printed on your voucher.
There are plenty of things to see and do on the island, but don't forget to check the time of the return ferry so you can be sure to be back in Auckland at the correct time, especially if you have to rejoin your cruise ship.
- When you buy this ticket it includes the return trip back to Auckland. Ferry services to Auckland run every hour on the hour.

- Transport from the cruise ship to this attraction is not included in the ticket cost, you will need to make your own arrangements. It is a 10 minute walk from the cruise ship to the ferry terminal.
Instructions
- The direct ferry services to Waiheke takes 40 minutes. If the ferry makes a call at Devonport then the journey will take 50 minutes.
- The ferries run approximately every hour on the hour from 6am to 7pm, after which the service is less frequent. Please check in at the ticket office at least 10 minutes prior to exchange your voucher for the ticket. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes each way.
- You can purchase a day pass ticket for the Waiheke Bus services at the Ferry Ticket office, or on board the ferry. The cost is $10 adult and $6 child. Buses meet each arriving ferry.
Restrictions
- Auckland to Waiheke Island return tickets do not include a stopover at Devonport. If you disembark the vessel at Devonport, an additional fare will apply for travel back to Auckland
