The Hop On Hop Off Wine Tour offers a delightful exploration of Canterbury and Waipara's finest wineries, local breweries, restaurant and scenic landscapes. With 21 carefully selected stops, the tour provides flexibility and convenience, especially for cruise ship passengers docking in Lyttelton.
The Hop On Hop off buses run every 30 minutes, making it easy and flexible to plan your day. We recommend allowing about an hour for wine tastings and around an hour and a half if you are stopping for lunch. Most guests find that visiting three to four locations in a day offers the perfect balance of experiences and relaxation.
At the end of your adventure, we offer multiple return time options to ensure you are back in Lyttelton in time for your Cruise Ship Shuttle.

Instructions
- If you are travelling with an infant (2 years old and under) please include them when advising the number of people you wish to book.
- It takes 2.5 hours to complete the circuit (Lyttleton to Lyttleton) if you stay on the bus and don't get off
- Please note that the tour starts from Lyttleton where the ship's shuttle arrives. Full details are provided on your booking voucher
- You must arrive at the start point in time for your booked tour time. If you miss the booked time then we can not guarantee space on alternative start times as this tour is often booked out on cruise ship days.
Restrictions
- A maximum of 8 people can book together as most cellar doors can not take more than 8 at a time.
- This tour is NOT suitable for users of mobility scooters or wheel chairs as there is limited storage capacity on the buses

Can I take wine back on to the ship with me?

Are your vehicles suitable for wheelchair or mobility scooter users?
Unfortunately they are not
Can we bring drinks onto the bus?
No. Our bus is not licensed to drink alcohol onboard.
Do you allow intoxicated people on the bus?
We follow strict duty of care protocols that may result in a persons tour being stopped and removal of the offending passenger in the event of intoxication or disrespectful behavior.
What happens if I soil the bus?
You will be charged $200 as cleaning fee. ( Not negotiable ).
Are there food stops on the tour?
We suggest you plan food and water breaks as part of your day
How many wineries should I visit in a day?
We recommend no more than 3-4 couples get off at winery. Small numbers result in a more enjoyable experience. Go back on the next run if you wish
Are there tasting fees at the wineries?
Some wineries have a tasting charge, some waive it when you make a purchase.
Can you look after my wine on the bus during the day?
Yes, we can. Not a problem
